I can't stress enough how fantastic I think Google Calendars is.

I use it to not only organise my personal life, but to arrange all of my project deadlines and also to set aside time to actual complete the projects - I know how much time I need and when I need to do the work, but when it's in black and white like that, I find it makes it a lot easier when looking at taking on new gigs or even arranging days out with friends and family.

Whilst I'm a major advocate of Google Calendars, like Carol, I too tend to use a blank document to record information in (a Notepad document, though, purely because I work from different machines and as it's compatible on most PCs, I can save it on my USB drive and take it with me).

I'll jot down brief details of a project, it's deadline and any other information I think necessary, such as websites for research. I've already got all of this information - and more - on my calendar, but I just find it good to keep at hand for quick reference.
